Hi,

I have downloaded ubuntu 9.04 onto one computer, burnt it to a cd, than installed it with the help of the CD onto a second computer that had a new empty harddrive with no other operating system.

It was confirmed as installed without any error messages.

However, it only boots with the CD still in the tray, and I have to choose in the Ubuntu interface the fourth option : "start from harddrive" every boot. Once this is done, the CD is not needed anymore so the system is indeed installed on the harddrive.

If the CD tray is empty from the start I get an error message "no operating system found"

How can I remedy this?

Thank you,

bacil
