installed KDE through Synaptic but....

I have installed KDE packages through Synaptic successfully, but at login screen option for KDE session does not appear. Please tell me how to do it.

Did you install kubuntu-desktop or just KDE apps?



sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop

should give you the option to select KDE at log in

i only installed KDE desktop applications such as KDE core application etc.

you need to install sudo apt-get install kde-core to get the kde desktop.

I personally like the KDE nightly build repo. Currently I am on 4.3, and it is fun to test all the newest bells and whistles.
