Hi:
I'm working on this dell latitude without an optical drive. I wanted to install Ubuntu 9x on the system and went through all of the steps to do so posted here:
http://www.teamteabag.com/2008/05/17/howto-easy-install-ubuntu-804-hardy-heron-or-most-other-distros-from-usb/
After going through all of the necessary steps, I attached the thumb drive to the dell and reset the boot sequence in BIOS to boot directly from the USB drive. This is what I get when I start the system up:
SYSLINUX 3.82 2009-06-09 EBIOS Copyright (C) 1994-2009 H. Peter Anvin et al
Could not find kernel image: linux
boot:
I'm sure there is probably something that I've overlooked. I unpacked the iso and transferred it to the thumb drive as directed.
Could anyone help me out with this. This is my first attempt to do this.
Thanks,
Steve
