I've just upgraded from ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04, and the CD-rom unit has just vanished from the system (IBM thinkpad R32). I tried
dmesg | grep CD
and got the answer
[ 0.000000] ACPI: ECDT 1FF7DF54, 0052 (r1 IBM TP-1M 2150 IBM 1)
what i think has nothing to do with my CD-Rom drive. Does anyone know how to solve the problem without having to reinstall everything from the beginning again? Many thanks
