Hello Friends,
I am new to the wolrd of Linux & Ubuntu so I need your help.
I have installed Ubuntu 9.04 i386 desktop edition yesterday from the live Dvd. However, I am not able to install all the packages which are there in the Dvd. I have tried adding the DVD-Rom as a repository using the Synaptic Package Manager but it seems the process is getting stuck at the point "Unmounting CD Rom " thought the status bar shows the process to be completed.
I have also not been able to configure my internet connection. I use BSNL Broadband with an ADSL modem.
Kindly help me out and please give any references of books/materials regarding ubuntu 9.04.
