In Virtual box I was trying to put Ubuntu's .iso file on a disk (DVD + R) but this came up--

Anyone got any ideas why?

If I had to guess I would say you need to have higher privileges to read/write to that directory.

I'm using a Windows vista machine and i am installing ubuntu via virtual box-
did you mean run as admin then?:confused:

That would be my guess based on the little information visible in the error box.

If I got it right what You are trying to do is to RECORD an ISO file to a CD/DVD. If that's correct, the VBox function that You are using has not this purpose. What it does is to assign a Virtual Disk to the specified image, within the selected guest machine. That's all. What you need is a CD/DVD recording software, such as Brasero.
