How much would it take to compile core win XP? I think its normal.

it's hugely dependent on the speed of your machine

any reason you're not using the pre-compiled binary (from the winehq repo)?

I don't know about Wine, but Firefox with PGO takes +2 hours on my machine (P4 3.06 Ghz).
