What legitimate sites are you folks currently using for viewing or downloading movies?

For viewing there's Youtube (http://youtube.com) (who aren't so keen on the downloading side) and GodTube (http://godtube.com)

I'm actually looking for full length commercial releases. Not really youtubes niche.

Sometimes the studios have sections on their websites where you can view stuff.

I'm afraid that we, that are outside US, do not have many alternatives. Maybe you can get access to some popular sites since you are in Canada.

I know Joost web site and Vuze offfers some legal movies, but the quality and availability of titles are worthless.

I my country the only option is http://terratv.terra.com.br , which has some good movies, but the streaming quality is terrible and I already have watched most of them on my satellite TV (more than once).

That's a cool and funny short movie, for demonstration of Blender power, but the OP wants mainstream movie channels.

Am I crazy or is it way past time that we should be able to stream/download movies legit? I know they're struggling to develop a viable business model but come on this is crazy.

No, you are not crazy, the studios are.

I would be more than happy to cancel my satellite TV subscription and just pay for what I download. I want to watch programs any time I want. The problem is that most of the programming on subscription channels are just reruns or pure crap, so they charge for the amount of channels and 24/7 programming, but what you really watch is just a fraction of that. Really stupid business model nowadays.

YouTube works pretty good for my needs, and.. for my economy.
