Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty and Lenovo N500

I downloaded Ubuntu 9.04 from the site and attempted to install it. I get the splash screen, I choose english and then to install and it just sits there. I have tried different boot options such as noacpi and others and all it does it just sit there. Is there tricks to this, this has happened to me before.

Did you burn the ISO at slowest setting?

In the first menu when it offers to Install have you tried the test disk function which checks the CD/DVD for flaws in the writing?

Did you get the correct ISO aka AMD or Intel?

I have a Lenovo 3000 J Series.
