Love Notify OSD (ie Jaunty notifications), depressed that you don't get enough notifications? Announcing the 0.4 release of Rss Notify, a program that notifies you of new rss news items. 0.4 now has opml file support which means you can import feeds from other rss related programs and export all your feeds from rss notify.

Download the deb (https://edge.launchpad.net/rssn/+download) or add the PPA (https://edge.launchpad.net/~freshapplepy/+archive/rssn-ppa).

Don't forget to wear long sleeves.:lolflag:

Notify LSD (Yeah, LSD), huh? Hehe

Is it just in the screenshot or are fonts and icons really blurred?

Well the font I am using doesn't look the best at that size, it all depends on what font you are using. The default ubuntu font doesn't look blurred.

For the record, LSD is not addictive.

I was actually referring to the program, but I admit the order of the posts is very suggestive :)

I still wish GNOME had something like the old Knewsticker from KDE 3.5 and earlier releases of KDE 4.x.

Snackr is the only thing close, but it takes up so much space on the screen that it isn't even worth using.

It doesn't seem to work for me. I have added some Ubuntu forums feeds and nothing happens. See screenshot.

What were you expecting to see? It looks to me like their were added, you won't see any notifications right away especially since you set the update interval so long.

I also tried with 1 minute interval and nothing happened yet. No notifications since yesterday.

Try adding more feeds, UF feeds don't update as often as you might expect.
So you might just be missing them. Also try running it from a terminal to make sure there aren't any errors.

I've just solved the problem with this command:

sudo apt-get remove rss-notify
