Installing Without a Disk?

I've been using Ubuntu for a couple of days on my desktop, and I thought it was nice. Now I wanted to put it on my laptop so I could run either Vista or Ubuntu on it. Anyways, the CD drive is fried, Wubi didn't work, and using an image mounting program didn't work. The CD image I used was the Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop one. Anyways, is there any other way to get Ubuntu on my computer without a disk?

You can make a live USB form Unetbootin (it is available in repository) . Change the boot order to USB as first boot device. Then you can use it to install ubuntu on the hard diskjust like a CD

So would I just need to run the CD Image, copy the files to a USB drive, and then change the boot order?

go to your desktop machine and create a bootable usb from there in Ubuntu. if you have 9.04 you can go System > Administration > Create Startup USB. (I think that's where it is, I am in Sabayon right now so I can't check). Or install unetbootin and use that from Ubuntu. Get it here: unetbootin (http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/)
