Hi I just recently downloaded ubuntu 9.04 Desktop and tried running it on live/and tried an install, both lock up around a similar time frame. I tried burning the iso to cds at a different/slower speeds but it didnt work. Right now i am in the process of downloading 8.04 from a different mirror and I'm going to see if that changes anything.

Just checking to see if anyone else has had something similar come up or anything like that, and to see if there are any simple fixes

I didn't have any problems. Do make sure you verify the download:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM And verify burn process as well. Then you should be ok.

Hi, make sure to check the md5sum (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM) of the iso you downloaded as checking the cd for defects (One of the options at the main menu of the live cd)

To avoid downloading a iso file that md5sum's don't match you can always use a torrent to download it. Saves having to re-download if the iso is corrupted.
