View Full Version : [all variants] Conky month/date format

I've set up my first .conkyrc file and one niggling detail remains - the month displays as a number. How do I display it as a word? And is it possible to impose a character limit (i.e. Jan instead of January)?

Apologies if these have been asked elsewhere. I've ashamed to say that I haven't gotten anywhere despite my googling powers. -_-"

(I realize I should have posted this in the 'Desktop Environments' forum. Can someone move this thread or should I just repost this over there?)

Here's a good start:

http://unixhelp.ed.ac.uk/CGI/man-cgi?date

Gives you a lot of the date formats.

what code are you using for the date? mmm will usually display the month as in dd/mmm/yy would be 17/jul/09 but i dunno if this is the same in conky
