Cannot seem to install 9.04 on VirtualBox

I am trying to install Ubuntu 9.04 on VirtualBox and while it seems to install fine, if I eject the Ubuntu .iso and when I reboot all I get is a blank screen and if I try and reinstall I get told that Ubuntu already exists on the drive.

do you have the hardware acceleration turned on in the vm settings/

I do indeed, however Nested Paging is disabled, I'm sure I didn't have to turn it on before.
