is there a snipper screen-shot tool similar to that of windows 7 (maybe vista too) for linux? I have found it very handy even in the past few days.
Thanks for any help.

If you go to Accessories > Take Screenshot, you can specify to only take a certain area of the screen.

If you already use Compiz it has quite a good Screenshot function you can enable.
I just press super and drag the mouse for a Screenshot of a particular area but i`ll still use the Print screen key for the full screen ones.

I don't know what snipper screenshot tool is. If you are looking for a screenshot tool for linux that can also make you coffee, check out shutter.
