View Full Version : [ubuntu] Instillation question

I started installing Ubuntu on my computer about an hour ago. At first it was showing a loading bar but soon after it went away and has been sitting at a black screen with a little line in the top left just flashing. Is this normal or should I be doing something about it?

Run a checksum on your .iso. If ok, burn at no more than 4x, and check the cd for errors at the opening menu.

It still could be damaged. Did you get to an opening menu? You can check the disk from there.

Also, did you select try ubuntu without changing anything to see if everything works?

I just tried running ubuntu from disc and it did the same thing as before. I also ran a test from the menu and it said there were errors in 2 files.

You know if the disc is RW? :\

So the cd is bad. Sigh.... You will have to download or order another one. But perhaps there is a linux users' group nearby, and you might be able to get one that way.
