All my friends I goto school with that are on my forum play a game called Atlantica Online and I feel left out. One even said they'll go on my forums more if I go on the game. But I refuse to run Windows unless it's in a VM. And that hasn't been sucessful. (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1213283)

Can I run it in Wine? Is it true that if configured properly Wine can run any Windows program? Is there a way to get this game working?

I wouldn't say ANY windows program however there are a lot that does work under Wine. Check with winehq.com. So far looks like it has a garbage rating (if I found the right program).

Other programs I've run just fine under Wine. I usually stuck with stuff in their Platinum or Gold rated list. Crossover games or Crossover Linux may have better success but it's likely not certified. They do have a lot that does work great however.

If you mean that it should be because the game is made by NDOORS and that's where the link is.

I just wonder if there is a way to get it working.

Apparently Atlantica online works with Wine (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=17754), but on a different linux distribution : Arch Linux (rolling release) (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?bIsQueue=false&bIsRejected=false&sClass=distribution&iId=526&sAction=view&sTitle=View+Distribution) : I personally could not get it working in Ubuntu 9.04.

I got it installed just fine (had to use a full download, the quick-patcher didn't work) and the game updated through the official game patcher (loading screen), but I think I need directX or something as all I get are odd blocks and distorted characters.

I think I seen that too, how can it work on Arch but not Ubuntu, they are both Linux, just come with different packages and GUI.

I was in Virtualbox and got wierd boxes and it was very slow...
