i am going to be installing jaunty, but need some help with how i should partition everything. i want to be able to do all of the desktop things i need to do, while being able to set up a file server for several other computers to access. the thing is, whatever directory many of the files are held in, i need to be able to access them from a wireless connection on a macbookpro.
in my pc, i have two harddrives, 500gb and 1tb. my questions arise in;
1) where should i put the different paritions?
2) what file system structures should i use? (thinking ext3), and
3) should i install jaunty and then use gparted, or use the initial partition manager upon installation?
i have limited knowledge but am willing to learn. just remember that i'm still new to ubuntu, but have enjoyed what it has to offer so far as to not even dual boot.
