AptIcons Ubuntu (http://apticon.wordpress.com)
AptIcons Fedora (http://apticonsf.wordpress.com)

The project AptIcons, born in February 2009, at the hands of Genuix and Aluddin, the need to seek an alternative to the difficulty that sometimes we are to install software on Linux, some distributions such as Ubuntu is easier this process as much as package with installer or pages where you can find manuals for the facility, but occasionally found outside of these software packages, and even a novice user or just looking to run your computer as you want them is very laborious and sometimes heavy start investigating.

We have created this project AptIcons, which allows the installation of software in an easy and intuitive, as many users looking for a viable alternative to Windows and Linux come in the first crash barrier at the time that all are, how to install the program I need, because they do not understand much of this world and look what they already know till then, only where an icon to be double clip and install the required program, because if you already found what you were looking for, or if any of what we already know some Linux, only seek to install their programs and do not want to spend your time searching the web or looking for the tutorial to learn how to do, as these in the right place, and gives you AptIcons simplifies things.

The project AptIcons Enjoy the icons we see on the menu or the desktop, etc.. (*. desktop), to write them in the installation script, or in certain cases where the script is too complicated or installer so warrant, download your own scritps, continuing with the installation, however you just need to double clip on the program icon and follow the instructions till completion of the installation, yet easy and simple.

At present we are working after the installation, create a shortcut to your desktop menu in the section it belongs, as always, and provide things for your comfort.

In the case of the repositories (central site that stores and maintains information software, which usually serves to keep your software updated), we have decided to attach the file downloaded from the web AptIcons and distribution from Ubuntu 8.10 onwards.

We see an example of installation with AptIcons. in this case we have chosen to install the Sources-Apticons, created to solve problems in Ubuntu repositories, but the case serves as:

In this first image we see as we have chosen to install the program and we want to Download to download.

In this image we see after we have given to download a compressed file downloaded (either tar, tar.gz or tar.bz2) which decompress to clip right on it and choosing the Extract Here option.

Then we see on the desktop or folder where you unzipped the file, an icon with the name of install-program chosen, in our case it says "install-AptIcons Sources" (the image of the icon can vary depending on the program). We must double clip to start the installation.

Then we will see how to open a window as we see in the picture (this is the Xterm program, which as you know you must have installed on your system, install AptIcon), which begins to make the installation process and inform you of process.

Most times you will see a window similar to this, as for installing software on Linux, you need your approval and the root key.

Subsequent to the relevant permits for installation and in some cases you are asked to respond yes or no (yon) to a given program need to install that as well choose to install, this is done because sometimes the programs you have chosen worth of other subprogrammes for operation.

And finally closing the window after setup, and you can find the appropriate choice on the menu. In this case, the Sources-AptIcons find it in menu System> Administration> Sources-AptIcons.

This we have done with a little Aclarecer what is AptIcons the project, which plans to continue to evolve and improve to become a tool, secure and easy to use for all users of Linux.

For questions, council, opinion or any other item leave my email, to communicate with us:

The Project Apticons continue moving forward and exploring new ways to make life easier for Linux users, remember that this is just an alternative, a different view of things and this created for users who do not in principle have many skills this world because they are newcomers to Linux or are users who just want to install what they like without any complications.

Are now creating new pages AptIcons other distributions, but we need your help to make it and if you want to participate (no matter that you do not have much knowledge, just looking for people who help us), please get in touch with us in email that I have left before.
