Hello everyone,

I need a little bit of help with the installation of Ubuntu. I currently have my first patrtition as Windows Seven, my second one is Windows Vista and I would like to install Ubuntu on my third partition, which is at the moment, not formatted to any file system.

Everytime I try to install, I believe Ubuntu wants to install over one of my Windows partition, which would be bad to say the least.

I<m just wondering what I<m doing wrong and if anyone could give me a step-by-step of what i should do.

Thanks

If you have a partition set aside for Ubuntu, then during the installation at step 4, "Prepare Disk Space", check the "Specify partitions manually (advanced)" selection. Then you can designate your third partition for Ubuntu, and leave your other partitions untouched.
