offline install of packages.

hi.i reinstalled jaunty on my acer laptop,but the problem is i have no net connection at home.so i am wondering if i can download the necessary sound codecs at the work place onto a flash drive and then go and install it on my laptop at home.i am a newb so i would appreciate simple instructions.thanks.

download what you want at work and get the debs from /var/cache/apt/archives
