They are without doubt my favourite band, melodeath or any other genre.

I don't really consider myself as a fan of any band, but yes, Kalmah is very good. Still, my favorite from Finnish metal bands would be either Amorphis, Sentenced or Finntroll..

Maybe not exactly a fan, but I do love "Swampsong". It's a brilliant album.

Your not a fan but love Swampsong? You should really listen to EVERY other album of theirs starting with Swamplord. Assuming you haven't already of course.

Yes they're good, however I'm generally inclined to swedish metal more so than finnish.

How about old In Flames, At the Gates, Entombed, Therion, Dark Tranquillity, Opeth etc etc..., although I do require a heavy dose of norwegian black metal ;)

I just listened to them on youtube, and have to say the instruments are pretty good, but the singing sounds like he is permanently coughing up a loogie. Was never a fan of that style of "singing". I'm more of classic metal fan like Iron maiden, Black Sabbath....

Actually, Kalmah sounds a little bit like Maiden, only "thrashified".

I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I enjoy them every now and again.
