I saw it on distrowatch and posted it on eeepcuser forum. Seems like a cool project, especially if they can pull off the lxde version.

One of the drawbacks is that it is in beta, and yet it is still based on ubuntu 8.10.

Hi folks. I am the maintainer/creator of wattOS. The beta 3 announced on distrowatch is actually based on 9.04 not 8.10. Beta 2 released in Jan was on 8.10. Distrowatch has not completely updated the package info for the newest version yet.

There is still much work to be done, but good progress so far.

Thanks for the interest.

Well as far as I can tell, this new beta (Beta 3)- that I just installed on my old Intel 810i: 1GHz Celeron processor, 384 MB RAM, & integrated graphics (crap)... it is pretty speedy =) the only problems I have encountered, are with flash player, that was already installed.... the sound is perfect, but the video is extremely choppy... I have tried several different flavors of Ubuntu, and this looks to be a good one for this computer (I am using it now) Oh and the sound works perfect without any configuring!! not many distros are able to make the sound work on an old 'Creative Labs CT4750' :KS

Thank you to all who are involved, and I will keep testing it to it's limit =)

p.s. probably also try this on my Turion64 AMD Acer laptop... when a more tested and stable version comes out i will!!!
