Dear Community
The IDE controller on my laptop (Acer Travelmate 4600) crashes after a while, which makes its use impossible. This type of panne is unrepairable, you should just change the motherboard.
Now I try to install my ubuntu 9.04 on the same disk but via a USB interface, the installation works correctly, but when I start the machine, I have just one message "GRUB", nothing is shown, even a small code's error.
The fact that I have this message "GRUB" indicates that the machine supports the boot from usb - correct me if I am wrong - although i try to change the menu.lst file, without success.
Thank you very much everyone who will help me and the others.
