May you please advise me on how I can add the chm reader onto mozilla because it keeps giving me this error message when I download it.

"CHM Reader" could not be installed because it is not compatible with your Firefox build type (Linux_x86_64-gcc3). Please contact the author of this item about the problem.

Try this:

Applications > Add/Remove > Show: All Available Applications > Search: chm > tic top box (chm viewer) > apply changes > apply > close

It looks like this extension is not compatible with the Linux Firefox. You can try gnochm or kchmviewer (apt:kchmviewer) to open chm files.
