View Full Version : Grilled cheese + bacon thread (split from FF&H)

Split from the "Can't find the Tip/Tutorial I posted about 8 hours ago" thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1205624) in Forum Feedback & Help. Bacon-related discussions can continue. :)

Two things have happened in the past hour:

Tutorials & Tips queue is now empty. Yay! (3-day backlog, sorry for those who were waiting.)
I discovered that grilled cheese is much better cooked on a bigger frying pan. Much more even and tastier. Bacon bits top it off for a delicious quick dinner.

Sorry, guys, I'm a vegan. I think you should have non-meat and non-dairy support, too! :p

They're the fake bacon bits. You know, the kind that comes packaged in the store bottles. Still delicious.

Nearly - the butcher sells local produce and he's next door which is ideal for bacon sandwiches.

Probably my fault. But who can resist bacon?

I can resist the bacon... with the power of my provolone/pesto/tomato on parisian sourdough grilled cheese sandwich.

Long a legend among jam-band groupies (because this sammie is sold in parking lots at jam band shows) I discovered it about ten years ago. Been blowing people's minds with it ever since..

The bread and provo have to be heated before applying the pesto and tomatoes. If you are cooking on a camp stove use earth balance vegan butter replacement to even out the browning caused by hotspots on propane/white gas stoves (only apply to inside of slice or your hands will be greasy all day).
