Hi All

I have been struggling for about 2 days now to get MS Virtual PC to install Ubuntu as a virtual machine. I have tried using the alternate iso (I think my download may not have worked properly) But anyway, has anyone done this with Ubuntu 9.04

I get as far as the Install Ubuntu screen then it just hangs

Any advice welcome

Joseph

Hi there

I actually use VirtualBox at home, but this is a work pc, I guess I could put VirtualBox on my drive and then use it to create a VM for Ubuntu

I'll look into that, thanks for the suggestion

i use ubuntu 8.04 and 9.04 and ubuntu studio in virtual pc 2007 sp1 (with latest hotfix for it also)

can confirm that ubuntu 8.04 lts works with good res sound and internet however on ubuntu studio 8.04 and ubuntu 9.04 and ubuntu studio 9.04 i could not get decent sound working.

It can be done to get ubunt working in vpc but it just aint worth it tbh only reason i persisted was just to see if it could be done. im curtrently using virtual box but not a fan so will be using vm workstation next to see if i prefer that.

hope this helps.
