pidgin is malfunctioning

my pidgin instant messenger will not log into any yahoo account anymore. what do i do? please answer so i can understand it. im not very good with computers.

also i downloaded text twist off of shockwave and i cant open it. its an exe file. can anyone help with that?

I think there is a problem with yahoo and pidgin at the moment, but I don't use yahoo, so can't tell you any more than that but a google search of "pidgin yahoo" brings up a lot to read more about the problems.

Regarding the second question, the .exe file is a windows executable so probably not usable in ubuntu unless it will open with wine, but that's another ball game. If you don't know wine, have a look here and search linked pages for more info.

Grab the latest pidgin from their ppa, it resolves the issue with yahoo
