Hi people,

I being toying with a box and made it into a Hardy server to fill a few needs of mine (learning being one of them). At present I'm stuck at remote scanning of documents.

I have a HP C3180 all in one. As local it scans and prints ok for over 2 years now, no complains there. As part of network printing no issues there either.

My problems are with remote scanning, I have follow this (http://penguin-breeder.org/sane/saned/) instructions to the point that Xsane in my laptop will open an detec the scanner attach to the server and if you click on scanning it will start, you can hear the scanner working, lamp moving etc.

But here is the problem, Xsane in the laptop will just hang/freeze. And will not work from there on. Any ideas on how to fix this or if there is another front end i could use in place of Xsane?

Thanks.

ps. got to go so I will check back latter today

You mean the network connection from laptop to server?

Yes i have sent all my music over no problem.

You mean between server and the HP scanner/printer? I think it is since it prints regulary no problems

All good now, fixed permissions and restarted all and now everything is fine
