Hey Guys, I am really new to Linux. I installed Ubnutu for the first time about a couple of hours ago (duel boot with vista HP) and it installed fine. However, I tried to download the ATI package since i have a ATI mobility radeon xi300 128mb card in my acer laptop. Before I shut down everything was fine, when I booted back up I get a black screen with lots of colours near the top. I guess this means the ATI package was faulty. I didn't install anything else except a bunch of audio codecs and Gnome sword Bible- study software. Vista still boots fine thankfully.

Help!

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Which version of Ubuntu are you using? Do you have a LiveCD? If so you could try booting from it and selecting Safe Graphic Mode. If you have any troubles please post back :)
