Dual Booting Question

Would it be alright to install Ubuntu on my secondary harddrive and have XP on my first harddrive?

I've read some things that said it'd be bad but I couldn't see why.

I did that I even had it set up so that the grub started on the second hard drive. Most of all of that is automatic too, you only have to tell Ubuntu what to use in the graphical menu during install and if for some reason you want to install grub on the second HD you can do that when at the last screen by selecting advanced options.

I'm kind've a noob to Linux in general, does it matter if grub(I think that is the boot loader or whatever?) is installed on the second harddrive?
