I have been running Jaunty for a while using two old 19 inch monitors at 1280x1024 resolution. Today I received a new 22 inch widescreen monitor capable of 1680x1050 so I replaced one monitor with the new one. I immediately started having display corruption using Nvidia TwinView, parts of the monitor would not redraw and eventually the entire system would completely freeze. I tried several configurations with the old monitor to the left, right or even cloned. Many times my system completely froze requiring the power switch. I had an ssh connection into the machine and it would just freeze and not even break when the machine was turned off.

Any idea why this would happen? In the past I might have suspected video memory but I have a hard time believing that because this is a new machine with fairly impressive hardware. Is there any way I can even test that?
