i want to thank everyone that had my back in this re-install process...

can someone give me the terminal command to make sure i did the install right ???

If you can load Ubuntu and get to the terminal without any glitches then I would assume everything is right.

thanks---but see the last install was messed up on the partitions...

can someone give me the terminal command to check the partitions on this second install ???

I you install Gparted it will tell show you what partitions you have (names, sizes, file systems...)

or


sudo fdisk -l (to list the partitions in your HD)

df -h shows how ubuntu is broken down (for lack of a better explanation) :)
