HI. I have a HP G60-230us laptop running Vista Home Premium. I am NEW to Linux and thought it would be easiest and least risky for me to install it on a USB drive, a Seagate Freeagent 500gB USB drive. I downloaded the ISO image and used UNetBootin to install it on the USB Drive. BUT when I try to select the drive from my BIOS boot menu, I'm back in Vista. I've moved the drive to my XP desktop, rebooted, same thing.

Any ideas or suggestions? I would, I think, really like to have Linux on the USB drive and be bootable. I even tried Wubi with the ISO image on a CD but that too had the same problem: booting back into Windows.
