I TRIED that 180 driver and the 185.xx driver with no luck as i couldn't get better res than 8x6 with the 180 and wirh 185.xx i could set the res higher but had to re set it often which created other problems...

i ended up removimg the nvidia drivers and have the default 9.04 driver which is stable but 8x6 is the highest res available...

thanks...

did you try installing the latest drivers directly from nvidia's website?

thanks lew---i read the whole thread and kinda understood it except the more technical parts... that means after i read it all i said---huh ???

i have really poor eyesight... that 185.xxx nvidia driver is their latest as far as i can tell... when i had it insralled it id'ed my monitor correctly as a vizio 42" 1080p lcd it gave resolutions form stupid small 2 digit xxbyxx to 1920x1080p amd then auto above that... if i manually selected 1024x780 it was just right at 3-4 ft away for my eyesight... every time i switched pages (google to yahoo for example) it wouldre-adjust to 8x6 or even larger !!!

if i selected auto it would be stable but of course it picked 1920x1080 which was like trying to read a postage stamp... it is not fun , but i have been using the control key with the + and the - keys allot...

What is the model number on your Vizio?
