Hello everyone. ):P

I am a new Ubuntu (8.04) user, and I was wondering if it was possible for me to use my own photo's to create a screen saver or do I have to use the default ones?

Thanks for any help.

Craig.

Welcome to Ubuntu.

In system > preferences > screensaver you can choose one called "Pictures folder" which will make a slideshow of your ~/Pictures folder (~ is short for /home/username). You can configure that by following the tips at the end of this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=488866).

Hi Vcoolio, thanks for replying.

How do I make a Symlink?

Craig.

sorry for replying late.

symlin command: ln -s /path/to/fileorfolder/tobelinked /path/to/folder/where/link/appears

this (http://gnome-hacks.org/hacks.html?id=656) is also an easy solution: open $HOME/.config/user-dirs.dirs and specify the path behind XDG_PICTURES_DIR to be the folder in which your pictures are.
