Hi all,

I'm in the market for getting rid of everything to do with win-blows in my home, and I want to replace my media centre OS.

I've looked into Myth and it's rock to setup, and I can't be bothered with loads of hassle. All I want is a nice big OS, that responds to my remote, and can play music and vids. I already have a TV and PVR for everything else!

So, I stumbled across Ubuntu Media Centre and though "wow, my favourite Linux flavour in a media centre!"...but where is it. There is a wiki that ends in about 2007, but there is no more after that.

Any ideas anyone? Is it dead? Will it be reborn? Do I *really* have to use Myth? :(

Is mythbuntu my only option?

Thanks.

I don't know about that one but there are a lot of others out for ubuntu

Mythbuntu (http://www.mythbuntu.org/)the most popular i think
Elisa (http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-install-elisa-media-center-in-ubuntu.html)
sofa (http://sofa.sourceforge.net/?s=downloads)
xbmc (http://www.kabatology.com/02/14/ubuntucomplete-your-xbmc-media-center-with-youtube-playlists-and-give-it-better-looks-with-xbmc-skin-manager/)

just to name a few
good luck
