View Full Version : [ubuntu] File Browser Crash

Hello All... Loving Ubuntu after long time on Win but am encountering an issue that I'd like to share. A very old habit of mine is to open a File Browser first when booted, but when doing this on Ubuntu I get a crash after a random period that locks the system. When it happens I can't do anything except restart, & the mouse cursor freezes for a few seconds, then moves, then freezes again etc... I've narrowed this down to Nautilus (this is the default File Browser?) by not opening it, and the crash hasn't happened.

This is the only blemish on an otherwise fault-free and very enjoyable switch to Linux, so it'd be nice to understand what's happening.

FYI; PC is an old WinXP warhouse that still has Win installed. Ubuntu is on an Ext3 partition while three partitions remain Winified, formatted with FAT32 & NTFS. I suspect these partitions have something to do with it, but what?

Thanks for reading & for any info. you might have.

This was the Firefox / Flash thing... Naughty me for doubting Nautilus...
