Ok... I am currently on Windows XP.
It's a long story really... First I was on Vista, but then Vista started to get all screwy, so I installed Ubuntu from the download. (Burned CD and all that.) (Note: I booted from the Ubuntu CD, and wiped my hard drive.)
Ubuntu worked great, however, it wouldn't run any of my beloved games.
So, I installed XP. I planned on dual-booting XP and Ubuntu so I could game on XP and live on Ubuntu.
So, I totally wiped my hard drive, and installed XP. Then, after getting all my drivers installed, I tried to install Ubuntu from the same disc I used earlier.
When I put it in, the autorun menu didn't come up. So I clicked on the disc icon in "My computer" and I got the following message:

"F:/ This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem."

I then made another disc from the download and followed the burning instructions exactly.
When I tried to run that, I got the same problem.

...Help

I know it is trivial question, but did you set CD as first boot device in Bios and then try to install Ubuntu?
