Hi,
I have a Laptop which has had a new cddvd installed and is not recognized in the bios and so I cannot boot from the CDrom. Although with windows the CD was read and writable once the system was loaded.

I installed the Ubuntu system on the Laptops HD by installing the HD on a different system using the CD and then putting the HD back into the original Laptop.

Now it boots fine from HDD but gets to the Ubuntu start up logo but after a few seconds it goes black and thats it.

I have a feeling that the drivers for one system do not match the other.

I can also use the command line after choosing recovery so I am wondering if there's any way to reinstall the system from the CD to the HD now from the command line. I am sure after boot up the CD now has been mounted and readable by the system (which was the case with windows when I had it). But I just not familiar with Linux.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Rob

Can anybody tell me the command to install the Ubuntu CD from the command line? Or point me to a site that explains this?
