I'm trying to share files between two computers running 8.04 and 8.10, using NFS
There is no problem with the 8.04. The 8.10 produces this error message:
'net usershare' returned error 255: net usershare add: cannot convert name "Everyone" to a SID. Invalid parameter.
The problem computer was previously in a network with a Microsoft Windows computer and I'd tried to set up a file share unsuccessfully using Samba. I'd uninstalled Samba. However, there are posts from Samba users reporting this problem, so I wonder if Samba has something to do with it.
Yesterday I contributed to a thread by Samba users. I think I just caused confusion, so I've started a new thread.
