I have 2x 500GB HDDs that I setup in RAID 0 through my motherboard's bios. I've already installed Windows 7 RC and it sees 1 1TB HDD, so no problems there. Now I want to install Ubuntu, but during the install it sees 2x 500GB HDDs with no OS installed. So I have a few questions really:

Why doesn't Ubuntu see my RAID 0 configuration, and what do I have to do to get it to?
Before I install Ubuntu, is it worth setting up seperate partitions for Windows boot, Ubuntu boot, and applications for both? Recomendations?
Would any of this be easier if I installed Ubuntu first, or does it matter?

I JUST installed Windows 7 RC, so if I need to reformat and reinstall to make anything easier, that's not a big deal.

I'm pretty sure you need the alternate Ubuntu install disk that contains the RAID drivers on it.
At least that's what I used to install Jaunty on my RAID 0 array.
