OK, Drapper Drakes's LTS ends the 14th. Anyone out there still using it?
To all that did use it, comments and reflections about it?

It will be sad to see it go. I started off with 6.06 and it was what got me into Linux/Ubuntu. I stopped using it when 7.04 came out, but it was a good solid release. So long Dapper Drake.

Another two years of support left for the server.

Is there an easy upgrade route to hardy for those still using it?

Can't you upgrade your desktop into a sever desktop? Like install a sever on top of the desktop?

Does that mean it would be covered for another 2 years?

I think 6.06 will be sturdy as a rock by now.

That was my first Ubuntu Distro... I probably still have the CD around here somewhere... :p

I didn't use it much, though, because at the time my friends and I were all about LANarties and gaming. If only Starcraft and TA were linux compatible :)

BUT I did like it, and that is the reason why I came back to Ubuntu with 8.04 (which was the next time I started looking for a linux distro).

Except it is so out of date you can't do anything with it :P
It has firefox 1.5, enough said.

I first tested 5.10, and with each release used it more and more, but only started using more than winxp (not including games) with 8.10.

6.06 was the first version of Ubuntu, and Linux, I ever used as well. If you need any indication about what I thought of it, I installed it over Windows immediately and haven't used anything else as my primary operating system since, and here I am on 9.04!

Dapper never gave me problems. I upgraded about 6 month ago to Hardy without issues.

It's an interesting question if e.g. Gnome and OOo installed on a server will indeed be supported for another 2 years?
