I just saw a commercial that said "new, and improved" and I thought... If it's new, how could it be improved? If it's improved, how can it be new? This oxymoron is used all the time. Can you think of any oxymorons that are commonly used.

It's new because it hasn't been available to anyone yet, until now. It's improved because it most likely, has new features, and also has many bug fixes in the old features.

Come on, this is basic stuff Swoll.

So by that thinking, you can never have new software versions? Of course something can be new and improved. It's a new release/version/product with improvements from a previous.

You guys will argue about the most ridiculous things. Get a life! Start your own thread about how wrong I am, and about how cleaver you were to point it out.

You mean there's a life outside arguing on the internet? Got any proof?

Whoa, calm down man. Seriously. No need to get all worked up over some ones opinion over the Internet, you could've just ignored him and/or me. Anyways, thanks for the info from your other post towards me.

Well, that's all been beaten to death, so how about this one:

"Could care less" but meant that you don't care at all.

"Could care less" but meant that you don't care at all.

Isn't the correct phrase: couldn't care less?

Both are accepted forms, unfortunately. I agree with you, however, that couldn't is the better one.

"I could care less" = sarcastic
"I could not care less" = literal
