Hey,

Recently signed up on to the forums after about 6 months of working with Linux. I have worked with an older Slackware distro as well as Kubuntu and Ubuntu. I attend college in Elizabethtown, PA (between Lancaster and Harrisburg) and I was wondering if there was anyone nearby, and if I could get some guidance or maybe a mentor to start giving back and helping out the community.

Let me know whats up.

Oops....trying to advise on using the LoCo Forum, but that's where this is posted.

We are currently looking at doing some work with Millersville U. which is just down the road from you. Perhaps you can coordinate a Software Freedom Day event at Etown? Hmmm... CPOSC is coming in October as well, that's at Harrisburg U. We'd like to set up a table there... I think that we need to have a good meeting soon. I'll try to put some things on the agenda.

We've been working with the owner of Anteil (an open source based company in Harrisburg) to donate machines with Ubuntu installed on to the Boys and Girls Club of America in Harrisburg. That would be a nice project to get spread into Lancaster.

IRC on freednode is #ubuntu-us-pa and meetings are the 1st and 3rd wednesdays of each month.

Bret,

I'm already in the IRC channel. I would love to help set up some events, and/or help out anywhere/anyway I can. I look forward to my first meeting.
