Hi everybody.

I can't install any new applications. I get the " cannot be installed on your computer type (i386) " error.
When I reload the updates list and I click on " show progress of single files ", it shows that most of them failed.

I have edited out the comment characters (#) in the sources.list file.
I am connected to the internet.
Under the Add / Remove Applications preferences, I have checked all the tick boxes under " Downloadable from the internet ".
Under preferences, I have tried the main server and my local one (South Africa).
I have rebooted after all the changes and tried again.

I am inexperienced with linux so please lay it out in laymans terms.
Please let me know.
Thanks.
