I currently have Ubuntu 7.04 installed however recently it came to my attention that I should perhaps upgrade the operating system in order to ensure that I am not behind with the new features.
What should my course of action be in order to perform an EOL upgrade on such an old system?

Hi angus-higgins.
There is some good documentation for doing this, but it may be less painful to do a fresh install.
I may be mistaken, but I think you have to upgrade each version until you get to the one you want.

Much easier in this case is a fresh install:
- faster
- prob. no troubles

If you donīt have separate home partition make one. (http://www.ivankuznetsov.com/2008/04/moving-home-to-its-own-partition.html)After that do fresh install.Better and faster then upgrades.
