I wanted to add a field in the context menu called terminal. The context menu is the one that opens up when i right click any space in nautilus. The terminal menu item should open up a new terminal with the directory set as the current directory in nautilus.
Im using ubuntu 9.04. Is this possible in some way by configuration?

It sure is. I my box set that way.
Sadly I can't remember how and when I did that tweak. Pretty sure it was through gconf editor.

EDIT: A bit of gconf searching didn't do anything but via google I found this: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-782895.html

In short the thread mentions that you should install "nautilus-open-terminal" which is available on Synaptic (sudo apt-get install nautilus-open-terminal) and you should be ready to go.

You can achieve this by installing "nautilus-open-terminal" using synaptic package manager.

Sorry again. I posted a reply and it doubled. I tried to edit it but it still isn't right. Anyway this is possible but I can't remember how it is done. Maybe someone else knows?
