Hello... try the following...

CTRL-ALT-T for a while... a terminal window should appear...

then do:

sudo synaptic

then search for openoffice and mark for complete removal...

then apply the changes...

I don't have an eee or run Xandros, but I think it has the synaptic package manager installed...

If it works, now you have a way to add/remove software. ;)
