I am using Empathy messenger on Ubuntu 9.04. It has a nice feature of showing notifications when my contacts log in or logs out (quite similar to the notifications of Pidgin).

But the problem is I can't control the display time of the notification on the desktop. For example presently it only stays for about 2-3 seconds. I would like to increase that to 5 seconds. But I could not find any option neither in Empathy or in Gnome to do that.

I think because Empathy is using the gnome-notification system so this is probably not related to Empathy but Gnome. I may be wrong here.

I must also add that for other gnome notifications (like new mail in evolution), the notification display duration is similar to what I see on Empathy. This gives me the idea that the problem might be related to Gnome.

This hasn't been addressed yet?
(also how to I make it so middle mouse button (or wheelclick) closes a tab?)
